Once a local primary school, then a Free Presbyterian Church. The Old Mission Hall stands in an elevated position with spectacular views of Loch Bay and over the Minch to the Outer Isles.
Recently renovated but with much of its original stonework maintained. The Old Mission Hall has been modernised to a high standard and comfortably furnished. Apart from a few steps to the car parking area, the accommodation is all on one level and comprises of two bedrooms (one double/twin and one double), bathroom with electric shower over the bath, open plan kitchen and lounge/diner with an open peat fire. A small seating area at the front of the cottage provides an opportunity to enjoy the wonderful sunsets.
The Waternish Peninsula is one of the four Norse divisions of Skye on the North West side of the island. The Old Mission Hall is situated about a mile from the picturesque fishing village of Stein, where there is an excellent fish restaurant (Loch Bay Seafood Restaurant) and the oldest Inn on Skye (Stein Inn), as well as craft shops, tea room, and slipway. Lusta provides a good base from which to explore the Island of Skye. The nearest shops to Lusta are at Dunvegan which is about three miles to the west, and Portree, the administrative centre of Skye, is about twenty miles to the south.
